Virtualization is not a new concept. Many companies, websites and service providers and many more have been using this technique to deploy their software efficiently for years. Using virtualization, developers can make their code available in the way they want and test it, without any compromise. It offers an easy way of getting the right environment for the applications using limited resources. VMware is the market leader in providing virtualization solutions to many IT companies.

Replicate VM to vCloud Air using vSphere…

In my last post Disaster Recovery with vcloud Air we discussed what is vcloud Air Disaster Recovery service and saw how to prepare your infrastructure for replicating VM’s to Vcloud Air. This post is continuation of my last post where I will be demonstrating how to replicate VM from on premise datacenter to vCloud Air. Let’s jump into action straightaway.

Another container framework that VMware customers can evaluate on Photon Controller is Kubernetes, developed by Google and now open-sourced. Kubernetes is another popular framework that allows customers to automate, manage and scale containers. Just like my previous article on Mesos and Docker Swarm, the Photon Controller and Kubernetes deployment steps are very similar.

vRA and NSX – Using Baseline Security Groups

vRA and NSX – Using Baseline Security Groups

vRA and NSX came together back when vRA (a.k.a. vCAC) 6.0 was released, just as VMware was transitioning from vCNS to NSX. In vRA 6.x, inventory-collected security groups must be selected (checked) per Reservation prior to being available for consumption by a multi-machine blueprint (and only MMBP’s support NSX in vRA 6.x). As I’ve highlighted several times before, the latest release of vRealize Automation (7.x) delivers deeper integrations with NSX and unified service authoring capabilities to make delivering application-centric networks the new norm. See this post for how vRA and NSX are better together…I won’t repeat those details here.
